A practical route from idea to first test

At Gevity on September 21, 2026, we worked through the decisions behind a paid campaign: the business outcome, the event you can measure, the offer, the creative, and the rule for deciding what to do next.

Six decisions to take with you

  • Name the business outcome. Write down the lead, booking or purchase you need, and the acquisition cost your economics can support.
  • Check the signal. Verify that the event you want to optimise for is measurable. A click is useful evidence for a click test; it does not establish a sale.
  • Keep the first test focused. Choose a platform for a reason, compare a small set of creative ideas, and avoid splitting a small budget into too many experiments.
  • Test different hooks. Change the opening idea while keeping the offer clear. Judge the result on the question the test was designed to answer.
  • Plan the review. Write down spending limits, success criteria and a review point. Monitor immediately for broken measurement or delivery problems.
  • Follow the lead through. Connect platform results to qualified inquiries, booked clients or purchases before calling a campaign successful.

The workshop includes example budgets and planning rules. Treat them as starting assumptions to check against your margins, conversion rates and current platform requirements.

The workshop kit

  • Live slide presentation: animated explanations, platform switches, and interactive examples. Opens in a new tab, with a full-screen option.
  • 14-page participant workbook: blank worksheets and six fictional classroom scenarios.
  • First Test Blueprint: a three-page campaign-planning worksheet.
  • The Hook Sheet: a two-page creative-development worksheet.
